This mower is the BEST ever!! I have 22 acres, 8 of which are not wooded and I don’t have a tractor or bush-hog. I pay to have it cleared once a year. But now I wanted to walk my dogs out and decided to clear some paths through the tall grass and weeds with this mower, whom I named Mathilda (after a strong woman). I use her to mow the 1.5 acres of fenced areas without issues, her “turtle speed” is perfect for me (50 years old, 5’1″ with plantar foot issues). She’ll go a bit faster, but it’s not that big of a difference. Today I tried her out in the overgrown field and I am STUNNED!!!! She barreled through it all!!! Super tall grass, weeds, small trees, you name it. I’ll never consider another brand again.

I like the mower. But the mowing height adjustment shaft pop out of gear as I mow my lawn. Look at the pictures. There is nothing to keep the shifter from popping out. At the highest mowing setting, within 50 feet it slipped down to closest to ground. Poor design. The plastic rope is my fix fo hold it in place. Needless to say, I don’t use the highest setting. A small lip on the shifter holder end would keep it from sliding. I wish it had a slower walking gear cause I’m 73. But that’s just me.

Came with a filter funnel, a extra air filter. Sucks up leaves and debri very well. Starts first crank. Has a dipstick and came with engine oil. The heigh adjustment lever adjusts front and rear simultaneously. The only thing im worried about is speed adjustment lever is all plastic. I know i can modify it if it ever breaks, but not sure for the average sheep person. Best bang for the buck on all specs of the unit

Ok, so here it is… the good and the bad. Good…. 1. Powerful 2. Easy setup 3. Easy hight adjustment 4. Easy start 5. Clean out port 6. Has a bag, mulches, side discharge. 7. Self propelled works well 8. Didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Now for the bad…. 1. It’s heavy 2. Mine came equipped with a bent wheel rod in the front ( had to remove wheel and straighten drive shaft) 3. The self propelled drive is actually fast..even at slow speed , so I could see where this would be an issue for older people or people with a disability. That’s it. It cuts grass great, has plenty of power, is very easy to adjust hight, Easy adjustment on handle angle, and starts with the first pull so far. Comes with oil, a funnel to put oil in and an extra air filter. Personally I gave it 4 stars only because I had to straighten out the front wheel. More than likely that was done during shipping and not a defect from yardmax. I tried both the side discharge and the mulching function, both work great, I did not install the bag. All in all, I believe this is a decent mower for the price and the quality of cut is good. Just an honest review, if you need a mower and don’t want to spend $1,000 , this should work for you.

I was very relieved when i seen the package weight is 98lbs i thought oh wow i read that base is made of steel which i like since i have a big yard and sometimes tree branches can hide or metal as the previous owner was a farmer and metal pieces fall of his truck or something. Easy to assemble came with oil, extra filter, funnel. At first had a hard time cutting as it used the side shoot, i switched to the bad wow a big difference the cut was i was wanting. The self propelled at first was unhappy until i let it do the work being a person with CHF lol It wanted to the job verses me pushing it i let it do the work very good ease of manuever 5 stars, value for the price money well spent others were offering self propelled but did not have the 201cc engine and 6 speeds i was wanting. I recommend this lawnmower if you in the market for a self propelled it doesn’t consume that much gas too thats a nother plus almost forgot to mention that.

The mower has good power and started up with one pull.wish it offered a from wheel drive.but works great with rear wheel.

I like the mower but I received it with a damaged piece. The grass chute is broken and in need of replacement. Just the chute needs replacement not The whole mower.

Easy to use and quick. Has enough power to compress so much grass in the bagger and it won’t fall out and back into the deck while mowing. Just used the mulching mode and left zero clumps in the yard. Little pricey for being a no name brand but still better than going electric!

I really like this mower with its 22” cut and single handle for wheel height adjustment! Having the option to bag or mulch the trimmings, it simply is the best one for the money. The engine has plenty of power at 201cc and the adjustable speed control makes it easy to go slower or faster through the grass.

I never write reviews but after reading the negative reviews here I was skeptical. But this thing is built well and works well! It has a ton of power and really mulches even 1 inch blackberry thorn bushes!! would buy this again no questions asked. Starts on the 2nd pull ever time!
